Individual Therapy with Angus Ford-Robertson

Book for Individual

A thoughtful space to explore what matters most

If you’ve found your way here, you may be looking for support — for yourself or for someone you care about. Reaching out for therapy can feel like a significant step, and it’s completely natural to feel unsure at first.

Therapy offers a rare and valuable space where you can slow down, reflect, and speak openly about what is happening in your life — with someone whose role is simply to listen, understand, and support you.

What should you expect in the first session?

Our first meeting is simply a chance for us to begin getting to know each other. You are welcome to share whatever feels most important about what is bringing you to therapy at this time. I may ask some gentle questions about your life, your current situation, and what you hope might change or become clearer through our work together. We will also take a little time to talk about how therapy works, and whether it feels right for us to continue working together.

There is no pressure to commit to anything immediately. The first session is simply an opportunity to explore whether this feels like a good fit.

How does therapy help me?

Therapy can support you with a wide range of issues — including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family dynamics, sleep difficulties, and burnout. Our work may also draw on approaches such as mindfulness and Nonviolent Communication (NVC) to help build emotional resilience, clarity, and self-understanding.

Some difficulties can be worked through in just a few sessions, while deeper exploration often benefits from regular meetings — usually weekly — creating a steady and supportive space for meaningful change.

Before we begin, we will agree together the shape of our work, whether that means a set number of sessions or a more open-ended process.

Over time, this consistent rhythm can help you build momentum, deepen self-trust, and move towards a way of living that feels more aligned and fulfilling.

If this approach feels right for you, you are very welcome to book an initial session below. I offer a complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call to discuss your needs – completely obligation-free. Simply book a convenient time in the calendar, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Sessions can take place either in-person or online, depending on the day you choose.

From the week commencing 7 April 2026, my schedule will be as follows:

Thursdays — In-Person or Online
Each week I offer one full day of in-person appointments on Thursdays. These sessions can be either in person in Battersea or online, depending on your preference.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays — Online Only
Appointments on these days are online sessions only, held via Zoom or FaceTime.

All in-person appointments take place at my new consulting room; St Joseph’s St, Nine Elms, London SW8 4DN (close to Battersea Park Station). The full address will be sent in your booking confirmation email.

All online sessions take place via Zoom or FaceTime, and full joining details will be included in your booking confirmation email.

Background

Angus is a therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience.

I have been working with individuals in therapeutic and contemplative settings for over twenty years. My work focuses on supporting people to explore life with greater awareness, emotional depth, and self-understanding.

Every client is unique, so my approach is always tailored to the person in front of me. Rather than applying a single method, I draw from a range of therapeutic perspectives depending on what feels most helpful for your situation and goals.

My work integrates contemporary Western psychotherapy with the reflective and mindfulness-based traditions of the East. This combination can help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape their lives.

Alongside conversation-based therapy, sessions may sometimes include reflective practices such as mindfulness and breath-work, helping to bring greater clarity and presence to the work we are doing together.

Initial sessions provide space to explore what is bringing you to therapy and to consider the most helpful way forward. Ongoing sessions are usually held weekly.

I hold professional qualifications in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychosexual Somatic Therapy, and I am a qualified Yoga and Mindfulness teacher. I am currently in the final year of a three-year Psychosynthesis Counselling Diploma at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, which leads to BACP and UKCP membership.
