Couples Therapy with
Angus Ford-Robertson

Book for Couples

If you’ve landed here, you may be feeling stuck, unhappy, or overwhelmed in your relationship.

Perhaps the same arguments keep repeating, communication has broken down, or the closeness you once shared feels harder to find. You may be navigating a difficult transition, parenting pressures, or the aftermath of betrayal.

Whatever has brought you here, seeking support together is a courageous and meaningful step.

Being in a relationship can be one of the most rewarding parts of life — but it can also be one of the most challenging. When we feel unheard, misunderstood, or disconnected from our partner, it can lead to frustration, loneliness, and a sense that things are drifting further apart.

Couples therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface of the relationship.

How the work unfolds

In our sessions, I offer a structured and non-judgemental space where both of you can speak openly and feel heard. Together, we explore the patterns that may be shaping your relationship — not only the arguments or conflicts themselves, but the deeper needs, emotions, and longings that often sit underneath them.

Drawing on a range of approaches — including communication work, emotionally focused practices, and somatic awareness — we work towards rebuilding trust, increasing understanding, and creating the conditions for genuine connection.

Sometimes a few sessions are enough to bring clarity and help a couple move forward. More often, couples therapy unfolds over a period of time, with weekly or fortnightly meetings providing the steady space needed for real change.

With patience, honesty, and support, many couples find it possible to move from cycles of conflict and disconnection towards greater intimacy, respect, and shared purpose.

Taking the first step

If you both feel ready to explore this work together, you are very welcome to book an initial session.

The first meeting is simply an opportunity for us to understand what is happening in your relationship and to consider how therapy might support you going forward.

If you’re considering couples therapy, I offer a complimentary 15-minute Discovery Call to discuss your needs – completely obligation-free. Simply book a convenient time for both of you in the calendar, and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

About my work

Angus is a therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience.

I have been working with individuals in therapeutic and contemplative settings for over twenty years. My work focuses on supporting people to explore life with greater awareness, emotional depth, and self-understanding.

Every client is unique, so my approach is always tailored to the person in front of me. Rather than applying a single method, I draw from a range of therapeutic perspectives depending on what feels most helpful for your situation and goals.

My work integrates contemporary Western psychotherapy with the reflective and mindfulness-based traditions of the East. This combination can help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that shape their lives.

Alongside conversation-based therapy, sessions may sometimes include reflective practices such as mindfulness and breath-work, helping to bring greater clarity and presence to the work we are doing together.

Initial sessions provide space to explore what is bringing you to therapy and to consider the most helpful way forward. Ongoing sessions are usually held weekly.

I hold professional qualifications in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychosexual Somatic Therapy, and I am a qualified Yoga and Mindfulness teacher. I am currently in the final year of a three-year Psychosynthesis Counselling Diploma at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, which leads to BACP and UKCP membership.
